Commercial Modeling/Which Market? (NYC/Japan)
Our take

| Hi! I was street casted a few times (received business cards) by Japanese agencies (for Japanese citizens) a few years back. I went through a few interviews and didn’t hear back from most. I was told that I’d be best for glamour modeling/tarento (tv personality) work. I decided to go back to America and had a mother agency in Florida. Last year, I signed with a Japanese agency for a total of 6-7 months that required me to be exclusive to them. I got feedback that “sexy is not welcome for the newest generation” according to my look, but that they’d keep advocating. I left due to not seeing a future at that point. Height: 168cm B W H: 92 63 92 My Instagram @emikelly_official has some of my portfolio photos.
Any feedback is welcome! I’m based in the NYC metro area. [link] [comments] |

- I need some advice please!Hi there! I’m from NY and I sometimes model, nothing too serious but I’ve always wanted to get signed but it seems like I’ve been having a hard time getting there. I’m not sure if I have “the look” anymore since it’s become pretty discouraging, I am also incredibly short (5’0) so maybe it’s that too? I’ve had casting directors in the past dm me about me modeling for a potential campaign but never heard anything back once I told them my height. That was also 3 years ago, when I was a bit skinnier. I am interested in commercial modeling and I want to get there but I feel like since it’s been so long and I don’t look exactly the same since when I modeled the most, I’m looking to get some opinions. I’m a little nervous to share pictures here so if you’re willing to give me some critiques and thoughts, I’d really appreciate it! Message me if interested please! submitted by /u/Junior-Signal743 [link] [comments]
- New to modeling! Honest advice appreciatedHello all! Im brand new to the industry. I recently submitted my digitals to a few agencies and heard back from 3 so far. Currently in the process of meeting with them for representation. Ideally, I would like to make a career out of this. I’m not just pursuing it as a hobby. But I also want to be realistic. If anyone has any insight in this industry, would you see my “look” as more commercial or high fashion? Height: 6’3 Chest: 37 Inseam: 33 Waist: 29 Shoe size: 10 1/2 Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/AdFantastic3376 [link] [comments]

- seeking advice on new digitals!Hello everyone! I’m looking to get some advice on my digitals. These are the first real ones I’ve taken with an industry professional photographer. So far I haven’t had many responses from the agencies I’ve applied to. I have received advice that it may be due to my age, 25. Being very pale, I also worry that I appear flat and washed out in images like these. I welcome any advice on how I can improve. I am interested in both editorial and commercial fashion modelling. Also wondering how I can appear more editorial. I am 5’9 with measurements: Bust: 33 inch Waist: 26 inch Hips: 34 inch Based in Brisbane, Australia.
