Free app to view and organise photos
Our take
I am not a photographer, but an art historian and take lots of photos while on research trips. Good quality, detailed photos can be so valuable. Lightroom has been great to edit in raw and get colours and contrast right, edit photos taken in dark rooms etc.
But my work has changed and I don't go on trips that often and mostly work with ancient sculputures (no colour editing required!). I now just put the photos in a folder, don't really need raw anymore, and only use Lightroom to make collections and to simply browse through them, select some good ones etc. For example I'd make a collection for a set of photos I'd be using in a project.
I am not sure I should be paying £120 a year for the Adobe subscription for this. I work on a mac and wonder if I could save some money and just use the finder.
can anyone recommend some alternative, free and easy to use, apps that help view and organise photos (without moving them from locations and inside an app)? The collection feature is quite handy....
Thanks!!
