Non-cloud based digital photo frame recommendations
Our take
In a world increasingly dominated by cloud-based solutions, finding a high-quality digital photo frame that prioritizes local storage can feel daunting. Many of us seek a device that allows us to store images directly on SD cards, micro SDs, or flash drives, eliminating the need for apps or proprietary software. Moreover, the quest for a frame that does not require a monthly subscription adds another layer of complexity.
I guess I shouldn't be very surprised in this age of enshittification, but I'm kind of shocked at how hard it is to find a good digital photo frame that;
- you can store photos locally on an SD card/micro SD/flash storage instead of the cloud
- don't need to use an app or proprietary software
- don't need to pay a monthly subscription
and I should also mention that I'm not trying to DIY it with a screen/raspberry pi, which seems like the only option at this point.
