Prospective Model Seeking Agency/Market Recommendations
Our take
As a prospective model standing at 5'8", exploring the right agencies is crucial for your journey. With six years of creative shoots under your belt, you have a unique aesthetic to showcase. Focus on agencies that embrace diverse looks and prioritize commercial and editorial work, rather than traditional runway. While you may not see many models at your height, there are opportunities in the industry that celebrate individuality.

| I’m 5’8 and considering modeling. I’m going to attach some shoots I’ve done for fun over the past 6 years and some regular photos so you can get an idea of my look. My question is before taking/sending my digitals, what are some agencies big, small or developmental that would be good for me (5’8 with no experience). I ask because I looked around and haven’t really seen any models that look like me or stand at my height. I understand that runway is not where I’d find success and am more concerned with what agencies I can* work with. I’d like to do commercial and editorial if i can get away with it. Let me know your thoughts :) [link] [comments] |

- New to modeling! Honest advice appreciatedHello all! Im brand new to the industry. I recently submitted my digitals to a few agencies and heard back from 3 so far. Currently in the process of meeting with them for representation. Ideally, I would like to make a career out of this. I’m not just pursuing it as a hobby. But I also want to be realistic. If anyone has any insight in this industry, would you see my “look” as more commercial or high fashion? - I need some advice please!Hi there! I’m from NY and I sometimes model, nothing too serious but I’ve always wanted to get signed but it seems like I’ve been having a hard time getting there. I’m not sure if I have “the look” anymore since it’s become pretty discouraging, I am also incredibly short (5’0) so maybe it’s that too? I’ve had casting directors in the past dm me about me modeling for a potential campaign but never heard anything back once I told them my height. That was also 3 years ago, when I was a bit skinnier. I am interested in commercial modeling and I want to get there but I feel like since it’s been so long and I don’t look exactly the same since when I modeled the most, I’m looking to get some opinions. I’m a little nervous to share pictures here so if you’re willing to give me some critiques and thoughts, I’d really appreciate it! Message me if interested please! submitted by /u/Junior-Signal743 [link] [comments]
