street photography
Our take
Hello, I am more of a new photographer, I'm trying to get more into it and take more shots, and I realized that what i like is doing like portraits of people and candid shots. I've been able to do shots of my friends and whatnot, but when i try to do shots of like other people in public spaces its more of a fear of being weird and out of place, like being some stalker or something. But at the same time i don't know what to shoot if i can't do what i mainly like. I also see vids of people doing street photography and just walk around like its another day and don't really mind anything that happens. So i wanted to ask like what do you guys do to get over that feeling and or contingencies that you do to get shots that you want to do it places that feel uncomfortable.

- Advice for sharing workThis is so embarrassing to admit but I find myself super hesitant to share any photography online, for fear of being judged. I am in my 40s, have kids and a husband, live in the suburbs, a totally normal life and situation. I dont really have anything at stake. But I have this irrational concern that someone I know (some of the not-nice parents from youth sports, for example) will stumble across any account I make and, I dont know, laugh behind my back about it? I’m confident about the quality of my photography but I am trying to get better (technically sound but still seeking my own voice) and somehow that trying seems so uncool and awkward. Anyway, I am open to any advice for getting over this and/or how to maintain my anonymity (like how to prevent my finstas from showing up as “people you may know.”) submitted by /u/Lost_Win_48 [link] [comments]
- What could I do to feel more comfortable taking photos of myself in public?I’m getting a tripod for my phone with a remote to take photos, and I’d like to do photoshoots of myself in public, but I have anxiety over 2 different things: people staring and judging me, and my phone being snatched and ran with. Does anyone have some specific tips or tricks they use to help themselves feel more comfortable with the process? submitted by /u/ControlAvailable8319 [link] [comments]
- Afraid to post photos on social media because I think someone might steal themHi Everyone! I am trying to start my own photography business. I would be advertising to do small weddings, private shoots, and such. But I will also be doing my own photos that include landscapes, cityscapes, nature and things like that. I made myself a Facebook page because I figured with social media, i would be able to better advertise in my area. The only thing that is giving me pause is this. I have some really good shots and I want to put them on my page so people can actually see what I can do....but I am afraid of posting my stuff online because what if someone really likes my shots and steals them for their own? I know it's silly and I can't control someone copying and pasting my stuff. And I thought about using watermarks but I don't want them to take away from the actual photo. Does anyone have any advice? I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance everyone! submitted by /u/LectureOrganic1250 [link] [comments]
