What’s the best website builder for photographers right now?
Our take
Trying to figure out the best website builder for photographers because my current setup feels clunky and slow on mobile. I shoot architectural interiors and smart homes, so half my traffic is people browsing from tablets while installing gear, and the layout just breaks. I tested Squarespace and Wix, both were easy, but I keep fighting their templates when I want cleaner galleries and faster loading. WordPress gave me more control, but I lost two weekends tweaking plugins instead of editing photos. Recently I also looked at viewbug.com since it mixes portfolio hosting with community exposure, which is interesting because I don’t just need a site, I need eyeballs on my work. Not sure though if it replaces a full custom site or works better alongside one. Speed, SEO basics and simple gallery management matter more to me than fancy animations. What are you all running right now and does it actually stay stable long term?

I think Ludwig(?) has been my go to but it feels very rudimentary- if anyone has any tips that have helped them or want to share their website for inspo, I'd love to see! - Finally rebuilt my photography site after years of WordPress. would love some feedbackSo I’ve been putting this off forever. My old WordPress site was just a mess. Every time I touched something, three other things broke. Plugin conflicts, theme updates, Elementor doing whatever it wanted, caching layers fighting each other. Slow loading speeds even when I had properly optimized images like, WebP, compressed, the whole thing, and it still felt sluggish. Google kept having indexing issues, pages randomly dropping out of search results for no obvious reason. At some point maintaining the site was taking more mental energy than it deserved and I just stopped caring about it. That’s probably the worst place to be as a photographer. Earlier this year I finally snapped and tried something different. I’d seen people talking about vibe coding with AI and figured I’d give it a proper shot. Spent close to a month on it, no theme constraints, no plugin drama. Way more time than I expected, but honestly the most fun I’ve had building a website in years.
